EP44: Courtney Carver: Simplicity As The Way Back To Yourself

In today’s episode, I’m welcoming back one of my favorite humans, Courtney Carver. I do want to acknowledge that this episode was recorded in mid-February before the COVID-19 pandemic was declared and life changed for everyone. However, I feel that this conversation is well timed for what many of us are currently working through as we spend time in our homes and reevaluate so much.

Simplicity as the way back to ourselves is one of the truest statements that I’ve ever heard and as we self-isolate and the world slows down, we are being called to connect with and embrace simplicity in ways we never imagined only a few short months ago.

In this conversation, we talk about Courtney’s new book called Project: 333. It is a challenge that she is asking you to choose in your life by letting go of items from your closet, clothing and material things. The things that we think are adding to our worthiness and enjoyment of life but are actually detracting from those things.

When you listen to this podcast I hope you will experience what I experienced when I started reading her new book. You may feel a lot of emotions, maybe some sadness but also some joy and even eurphoia coming back to your life.

When we start to let go of the material things in our lives, that seemingly protected us from the pain in the world and from grief and from fear, we realize that we can do life without them and we can maybe even do life better this way.

“We have to stop looking outside of ourselves for validation and love and approval. We have to start looking inside of ourselves and if we can’t find it there, we need to ask for help.” (Click to tweet!)

~Courtney Carver

This is a moment of great change and if we are able, an opportunity, to reflect on what truly matters and what has been getting in the way of truly living and thriving in this life.

If you are needing support during this pandemic, I invite you to join my free Facebook Group that I have created for you. It is so important to me that we are ready to exit the Waiting Room when it’s time to reenter our new lives on the other side of this.
